Hi Pat You suggested that I take a hard look at SDLI long ago when you started buying shares...It took a little time but the spread between JDSU and SDL was so compelling that I sold shares in JDSU (the first time I have ever sold any JDSU) and bought SDL @$311.50 this morning. Pat: Try this link: hitachi.co.jp This is their active fiber components link. They are state-of-the-art in low cost, medium speed transmitters, and I believe they make their own devices (still). Hitachi is an old name in lasers....at one time, they were neck and neck with SDL in power output...then they faded...could be interesting if they got some decent management, but given that they will be captured by parent....won't happen. -Own
