Optical News - MFN completes its fiber network in Seattle, Tacoma, Everett. No doubt this network is lit with Nortel gear.
Most of you know that I live and work in this area. Exodus is building a huge data center in this area. Now, if the Seattle
Mariners can make it to the World Series....

MFN Network Up in Seattle

SAN JOSE, Calif. -- Metromedia Fiber Network, Inc. (MFN) (Nasdaq: MFNX), the
leader in deployment of optical IP Internet infrastructure within key metropolitan
areas internationally, has entered the Seattle market with significant fiber-optic
offerings, including fiber rings throughout the region and facilities for MFN¹s
AboveNet Communications and PAIX.net, Inc. subsidiaries. By laying more than
120,000 fiber miles of fiber-optic infrastructure, MFN is deploying the largest
amount of fiber in the region from Seattle to Tacoma to Everett. This massive
quantity of fiber will enable companies to access an all-optical IP network
capable of delivering terabits of data directly to their desktops. In addition, it will
allow MFN¹s telecommunications and data communications customers to offer
their customers more services and extend the reach and capabilities of the
Internet in the region.

"Our expansion into Seattle underscores our ongoing strategy of building into key
markets around the world," said Nick Tanzi, president and chief operating officer
of Metromedia Fiber Network. "Seattle is a city at the forefront of Internet growth
and development, and we are delivering the infrastructure needed to provide the
best Internet experience possible to its business community and the region¹s
surrounding business areas."
