China Unicom Due to Issue Tender for CDMA2000
China Unicom President Yang Xianzu met with Korea¡¯s
Minister of Information and Communication Ahn Byong-yub
Tuesday in a breakfast meeting in Seoul. His firm has acquired
a license from the Chinese government to
operate mobile phone services in China and Yang told
the minister that his firm would issue a tender for
a CDMA2000 service system around the end of this year
or early next year. He also said his company is
interested in starting an international roaming
service encompassing Korea, China, Singapore and
Australia.
