Hmmm. No more CD players? That's gotta stand for something, at least making the CD player's shelf life just a bit longer than that of the eight-track. Bollocks! If you think about that statement for a little while, you will see how silly it is. Not only are CDs used for audio, but for data. There are CD players in cars, stereos, computers, clock radios and so on. There are writable and rewritable CDS and they are cheaper than just about any other media of the past. I buy CDRs for about $.35 each. Not only that but CDs have evolved into the DVD which is a fairly successful format. CDs are cheap, convenient, rugged, and can hold a good amount of data. Will they someday be replaced entirely by another format? Sure. Will it be soon? Of course not. regards, cAPSLOCK
