My timing has been off lately haven't traded that much this summer

Mark, "your timing" on a "bad day" seems better than most people on their best days!

IMO "timing" a stock for a "perfect" buy is almost impossible. Stocks lately seem more manipulated by daily/hourly "news"...some real news, some rumored "news". Even the analysts seem to be "doing their part" to constantly raise/lower/raise their "targets" for specific stocks. (INTC)

I think the way to do well with in this market is to have a fairly good understanding of the market and the companies who are in a position to have strong growth, a true belief in the potential of the Internet (if you are investing in Internet related stocks), and a good knowledge of the trading ranges for the stocks that you follow. I've started to look more often at the TA of a specific stock, but IMO the FA of that stock always outweighs the TA of the stock when I am trying to make the decision to buy or sell. I tend to buy stocks which I feel have the ability for strong potential growth.
