To: lindelgs who wrote (4 ) 9/19/2000 6:54:05 PM From: elpolvo Read Replies (1) | Respond to of 104159 leggiferous- since you are a card holding member of NNBM yahoo club i thought you knew but i was wrong, as usual. :-) there is an emerging new economic business model that i, among others, believe is going to be the model for all successful businesses in the early part of the 21st century. the best explanation i've read of this model was written by kevin kelley. he wrote a book called "New Rules for the New Economy" here is an old version of it that he published in Wired magazine in 1997 before the book was published:wired.com assuming all these companies qualify some people think they do. i don't think all of them do but they were voted on and they are in the NNBM 30 Index by virtue of a vote tally.whats the background for the portfolio? the portfolio is an selection of 30 companies selected on Oct. 1, 1999, by vote of NNBM members, that supposedly were operating under the new network business model and that we believed would perform better than any others going into this new millennium. none of them have gone under after one year but it is time for us to reassess the 30 stock NNBM Index and add new companies and drop some others. we called it an index because we thought that it would reflect the performance of new network business model companies as a whole. in the 3 month period from it's creation on Oct. 1, '99 till early Jan., 2000 this index had over an 80% gain in value. it has corrected downward with the internet and tech stock sectors and stands today at a gain of only 35.6% for the entire year.Whats the scoop Polvie? there ain't no scoop. clappy posted on the old club yesterday something to the effect that we might start a thread over here on SI since I lured almost all our old members over to SI and since SI has a better interface for messaging and portfolio tracking. so i started this thread today and sent a PM to all the NNBM members that i KNOW are also members of SI. anyone's welcome if the topic appeals to them. the people we had for members at the yahoo club location are some of the greatest people i've met. (you included leggy) this thread, just like the club on yahoo, is moderated. the only thing that would get anyone a warning about being suspended from posting on this thread would be rudeness and personal attack in posts. off topic posts are ok. -polvs
