Tilting mirrors? Moving parts? In optical networks?

I don't know a damn thing about optics... except sometimes I catch a little bit of what Sector writes.

But how the hell do you make micro tilting mirrors that sit for 20 years in networks, and tilt, and tilt, and tilt,......

Everything I know that tilts a lot usually wears out after a few billion tilts....
