RDRAM makes up for it with better bandwidth utilization. DDR-266 has much worse bandwidth utilization, which is why they have to brute-force "theoretical bandwidth" higher than RDRAM. This brute-forcing also gives DDR a little marketing edge over RDRAM, but then again, I know how much you LOATHE empty marketing promises ...
