The logical choice will be UltraSparcIII running Solaris.

If the first product change that they make to COBT's line is to bring out Ultrasparc III machines running Solaris, then they really did pay too much for the company.

That makes no sense.

Why did Sun just spend $2 Billion to get a new product only to replace it right away with its own existing technology?

Even I don't think the Sun management is this dumb.
