what we need is an economic stimulus before Greenspan's rate hikes take full effect Someones been feeding you a load of horse apples, no doubt with the secret handshake and sign of the cross. You don't appreciate the double-talk explanations for what they are, a desparate attempt by the bush-leager and advisors to confuse the issue since they have already come to the realization it is a disasterous mistake, but they don't have the political capital and guts to admit their goof. They can't figure out a way to back down the issue (I saw that attempt to try to scale back to a 4 year 1/2 trillion dollar cut). The voters aren't going to stand for another Read My Lips speech followed by repudiation before the election. They are just going to try and bluff and baffle and search for pseudo-scandal distractions. Bush's campaign was dead the day he turned it over to the local yokels in Austin. TP
