All I was trying to say is that there does seem to be just a little more open mindedness wrt to where this deal could lead by some of tonight's posters. In any event if you have the time listen to the call. The two principals involved seem to be genuinely enthused by their prospects.

It could be the start of something big or it may be just another false start.

I agree with you that cobalt is not likely to move up to larger scale servers. I believe Sun bought cobalt to get into low end Internet servers and storage segment. I see a possibility of Durons, and/or ultrasparc(embedded version) replacing AMD K6x in the Cobalt products that use AMD K6-2s.

<But after looking up Cobalt's current products, I think projecting it as the vehicle for launching sledgehammer into the server space is a bit, uh, euphoric. >
