Unfortunately I've got nothing to compare Star Office to -- we develop on Suns and do documentation/administrivia on Windows (laptops/desktops or NT servers with Solaris Windows clients). I was looking to do all my work on one platform. I'd heard that the Star Office wordprocessor was compatible with MS Word. I don't know anything about Star Office's portal product.

A couple of people I know are thinking CORL would make a good fit for RHAT. What are your thoughts on that?

...Corel as an acquisition candidate...

...that same space (non-PC thin server)...

Anyway, Corel to my mind has assets that add up to far more than it's current valuation to the right HW giant

Hi JC,

Could you elaborate please, w.r.t. which assets you are thinking of, and how much (what sort of ballpark) they'd be worth? I'm very interested in this, and would really appreciate it -- Thanks.

- Daniel

(One reason I ask is that I thought Corel got out of the thin client things)
