On the comeback trail!
Long time lurker from Arizona. I've been following the porch since its inception. I've got the feeling that I am on the comeback trail, along with everybody else. I rode QCOM up and rode it down, got hurt by margin, should have sold. Same story as most of you.
I'm counting on QCOM, RMBS, GMST, GSTRF to lead the way for me. Mostly Q and the Bus. Going to get some EXTR soon.
J. Willie check out the chart on GSTRF, it could be big if you can handle the risk. If CDMA is the real deal (it is), GSTRF will prosper.

Porch on!

China will support CDMA

Wu Jichuan, Minister of the Information Industry, said that China would introduce narrow frequency CDMA technology for mobile telecommunications. He denied reports that China Unicom would abandon CDMA, Chinanetnews.net reported.

Though there has been no confirmed plan on a specific CDMA standard for China to adopt, it's necessary for China to introduce the CDMA IS 95 technology, Wu was quoted as saying by the London-based Financial Times.

The number of CDMA-mode cellular phone subscribers worldwide exceeds 70 million and will increase rapidly. If China Unicom adopts CDMA, then the market in China will lead the global trend, according to Zhang Guodong, manager of the Network Project Department of Hutchison Whampoa Ltd.

Aside from the introduction of Samsung's CDMA-mode and WAP-enabled mobile phones, Hutchison Whampoa (0013.HK) will soon begin to manufacture two of its own models of CDMA mobile phones, Zhang said.

V- Q train post, a classic.
V I remember a post of yours last fall about the new Q train, with Dr. J at the controls. It was a classic, do you still have it or know the link? I think it was on the Qualcomm thread.

A couple of thoughts on the Naz...

GOOD THOUGHT-
The houses are very interested in getting a rally started.
There are a large number of IPO's that are getting ready to come out.
The past few groups of IPO's, this year, have fizzled during a dropping Nazdaq.
Look for them to get the market running as they attempt to release these.
The houses will be looking to give their patient customers a bone.

BAD THOUGHT-
This week and next week, pre-earnings warnings are due out...
Hopefully we won't see many warnings in the techs.
Otherwise, we will test these lows again.
Especially with Oil rising and the Euro falling...

P.S. JW, do you think the gap in QCOM at 67 needs to be filled?
