William, another way for Whittington to say "I screwed up".
At least he DID correct his error.

Some investors said Whittington's rapid shift is a sign of a trend in analyst coverage

What trend? This story is as old as the hills. Analyst downgrades stock and is slapped around by his bosses, who remind him that he is there to bring in underwriting business, not drive it away.

For those who play the short term game, this is worth paying attention to. Granted, Whittington is a fool, but there still might be something behind that downgrade. Those of us who are long termers can just fasten our seat belts, hold onto our AMAT and INTC, and enjoy the ride. No way would I buy anything at these levels though.
