Jim> I still believe that the greatest promise of the computer era lies in high-bandwidth computers that offer the potential for manipulation of huge data sets and visual information.

(That is the same reason why I invested heavily in Rambus a few years ago.)

I use to feel that was the case, but Now SGI has become a company that few investors or Corporate Computer buyers will risk buying any longer. There is just too much damage to the Silicon Graphics reputation for much future. As I stated many times in the past, the best SGI can hope for is to be bought out by a company like Apple or Sun Micro, but both seem unlikely as time passes.

Good to hear from you

Regards

Don

Intel Gathers Execs To Talk E-Business

techweb.com

Hi JD, true there's not much info on b2b, ... think operating systems, platforms ... enterprise....

Solaris got a head-start, but have heard it's expensive, and for the most part is in b2c, "the dot in dot.com".... The alternatives ... Linux, Windows, and Unix.

My mentors taught me long-ago that a stock trades on it's own story and technicals, as far as the market climate is concerned. There's quite an open-interest in the Oct. 5's ... hedge?

Regards....
