My impression is that PowerNow is a "Don't Care" - since it is only available in some limited Kmart 62's that are going out of production.

Intel's SpeedStep addresses the main notebook issue - allowing the CPU to run FULL THROTTLE when connected to an AC power source, then backing off - SEAMLESSLY - to lower speeds and voltages - when the AC power source is removed and the Notebook is running on internal batteries.

My guess is that Speed Step CPUs - all mobile Pentium IIIs running > 550 MHz - are outselling PowerNow CPUs by about 500 to 1.
