Hi jim kelley; Of course Hitler and most of Germany was directly responsible for the slaughter of many millions of innocent people. I do not deny that. Hitler was evil as hell, and the majority of the German people loved him like a father. For that their country paid dearly, though not even a tenth as dearly as the Jews.

This country has been more lucky. But we are not in a position of feeling safely holier than the rest of the world. Could you even find thousands of American willing to kill millions of innocent people, if ordered? The US government already has. (And I hope in a deep and profound way that our nuclear arsenal is never put to use.) From the point of view of capability for evil, I am sure that there are no significant differences between the character of different people around the world.
