>Cambridge, Massachusetts, Sept. 19 (Bloomberg) -- U.S. shoppers are expected to spend $10 billion on the Web between Thanksgiving and New Year's, double last year's total, Internet research firm Forrester Research Inc. said.

About 16.6 million U.S. households, 66 percent more than last year, are expected to shop on the Web this holiday season, the Cambridge, Massachusetts-based company said. Each household is expected to spend an average of $603. About one-third of Internet users will buy online, Forrester Research said.

Next year, about 23.3 million people are expected to shop online, spending more than $64 billion in the U.S., Forrester Research said.

Forrester Research shares rose 6.50, or 11 percent, to 64.25. They've almost doubled this year.
