Nice angle. There's plenty of reasons why this current administration is not loved by the oil industry. A Bush 'n Dick administration would open up exploration land in many places, including Alaska and possibly the Eastern Gulf Shelf. That's another reason to hold a Seismic co. (PGO's my fav)

There's also some hoarding. Korea is doubling its reserves. I just noticed that gas prices here have been dropping while crude oil was rising, and thought that there was some diversion from the normal switch of focus to heating oil in August.

Patron, the DOE numbers were similar to API's except for gasoline. DOE reported that gasoline stocks were drawn by 4.2 million bbls last week.
