Intel pushes wireless standard

Chipmaker Intel (INTC) is expected to announce at a developer forum in Tokyo today the blueprints for building wireless Internet devices, including cell phones and handhelds.

Based on its Personal Internet Client Architecture, Intel plans to push the technology to become the industry standard. If adopted, Intel argues that the technology will reduce time and costs for small manufacturers of wireless devices.
