Rambus Fincl Chief: Prices Will Decrease Next Year
Dow Jones Newswires

September 20, 2000

NEW YORK -- Prices of Rambus chips should decrease next year, said Gary Harmon, financial chief of Rambus Inc. (RMBS).

In a CNBC interview Wednesday, Harmon said he sees a 10% to 15% price disadvantage for Rambus over competitors by the end of 2001.

Harmon said that double data rate dynamic random access memory, or DRAM, will not pose much competition to Rambus technology because it is not faster.

The company, which makes chip connection technology, currently has about 5% to 10% market share.
