Wilkerson, CBS.MarketWatch.com Last Update: 3:05 PM ET Sep 20, 2000 NewsWatch Latest headlines SAN FRANCISCO (CBS.MW) -- RealNetworks CFO Paul Bialek highlighted continued technological advances saying that his company would not sacrifice their long-term goals to show immediate quarterly results. But, he said, "look for operating income to grow about one percentage point a quarter." Bialek said VHS- quality video already is available online through the company's RealSystem 8 and near-DVD quality is coming in the future. The ability to stream high-quality video images over the Internet is seen as an important driver of new business for the company. RealNetworks (RNWK: news, msgs) also has partnerships with the five major record labels to deliver music online Bialek said that the company is not concerned with Napster and MP3s "illegal operation" saying their business models "were not profitable in the long run revolution."
