Primary election returns in Washington State indicate the Republicans are in big trouble. I have watched politics in Washington State with intense interest for more than 50 years. Primary returns indicate that Sen Slade Gorton (R) will lose against Maria Cantwell (D); Democrats will gain at least one and possible two seats in the House from Washington State. State Congressional Delegation will be either 6-3 or 7-2 in favor of Demos. Both Senators will be Democrats.
