Perhaps Intel and Rambus found a way to reduce the power draw in the new RDRAM design, thereby eliminating the requirement to power-juggle the devices.

I'm not sure about that, though. Hopefully such a solution to the power problem exists. Otherwise, I feel it would be pointless to try and continue pushing RDRAM as anything but a niche memory technology.
