Max - RE: "AMD will have to compete with 700 MHz XEON with shared bus SMP. They're set for a higher stake than 10%... I would say 35% by Q3."

Whoa, back up a sec!

What makes you so sure AMD servers will be such a hit next year that they get 35% of the market?

And even if they are a hit, what makes you so sure AMD can even supply 35% of the market?

And if AMD can supply 35% of the market, what makes you so sure there will be enough OEMs willing to sell AMD in servers to 35% of the market?

I would be extremely happy if AMD could get even 10% of the market by Q3, and I'm not even expecting that to happen. Servers aren't like desktops, meaning AMD can't just show up on the doorstep and say "hello, I have a really fast processor. will you buy it?". AMD and its OEMs have to prove the AMD platform is as reliable as the Intel platform before they even hope to get 1% of the market.

BTW, Intel won't be stuck at 700MHz forever... Foster comes out next year and may provide good competition. And it appears to have multi-threading.
