max, >Mustangs will be clocked at worst 1.1 GHz and faster,
-it'll have the same amount of cache than Xeon,

How much cache is that? On die? Bus width? Speed? I don't personally know.

Max - RE: "Mustangs will be clocked at worst 1.1 GHz and faster,

-it'll have point-to-point chipset which prevents from spliting the bus's bandwidth"

I'm not saying Mustang won't be competitive. I think a dual Mustang system should easily blow away a dual Xeon system.

"The total unit shipment isn't that huge in the x86 server market; AMD has the capacity to take as much as 35%..."

Don't forget AMD is starting from ZERO % in big OEM servers.

"I, as you read, admit that 35% in Q3 is exaggerated."

You forgot to admit to "12% by june, 18% by august and 25% by october." ;)

I'm just trying to point out it won't be as easy as you have typed. I wish it were, I really do, but it won't be.

Max,

I will be stunned if the Mustang penetration into the server market is at a faster rate than the Athlon/Duron penetration of the corporate desktop market! This is for the US only. I expect that AMD's progress in foreign server markets should be much better than the US.
