Based on recent interviews at robertsonstephens.com it seems as if Paul Johnson is the detail guy with a keen understanding of the networking markets. Interestingly, he doesn't seem to follow component manufacturers but tracks most of the major systems companies. While you're at it check out the presentations from the RS Internet Conference last week - there is a good primer on B2B software at robertsonstephens.com. They are bullish on i2 and ARBA and describe them as "giant franchises in the making".
