I for one still see no convincing reason why a king can't morph into a Gorilla.

By Moore's definitions, it's not possible. Going by his own use of the definitions, anything is possible including Qualcomm not being a gorilla and JDSU being one.

Rather than get hung up on whether or not a company can morph from one to the other, I think it's more important that we as investors appreciate the gorilla- and king-like characteristics of a company to fully understand the risks.
