The point is that a vote for Bush or a vote for Gore is the true wasted vote. At this point in time it is reality that the Libertarians do not have enough of a voting base to swing the election to one side or the other. But there is enough of a base to send a message through a strong showing.

My voting Libertarian will not change the election unless the results in my state depended on that vote, and that my state is the deciding state in the electoral college. My voting Libertarian can make a difference to the body politic though.

I still don't get why everyone seems to think that Libertarians are just Republicrats in drag.

Regards,

Barb

long-gone -

[Do you fully agree with every splinter of every plank of the party platform? Is not everything a matter of degrees?]

Your posts show that you have not the remotest idea what Libertarianism is all about.

Every true Libertarian makes up his or her own mind on every issue of interest, based on the principles of individual freedom, liberty and free markets, every time, no excuses. The party platform is an approximate consensus of the issue positions that result from the application of those principles.

The Federal funding of elections is, or at least should be, anathema to every Libertarian. All non-voluntary taxes are theft, but the funding of elections is worse as it directly supports candidates and ideas with which you may violently disagree.
