You're contradicting yourself here.

Why is Intel giving a rebate then? Doesn't it sound like DRDRAM is already hindering the launch?

I'm speaking of volume though, not just the launch.

McComas said that P4 would likely ship 2 million units in 1H 2001. This is 1 million a quarter which represents far less than 5% of Intel's total shipments.

I don't think there's going to be enough DRDRAM to supply any more than 5% of the market, at best. Therefore, until P4 has an alternative memory, we won't see volume.

The launch of 200,000 units will be fine, but 9 months from now there still will be no volume.
