Technically this stock could not be in a worse condition.
The stock is well below its 20,50 & 200 day moving averages.
Stochastics are making a double bottom at near -0-. Money
is leaving the stock in droves.

Its all uglier than hell but I'm continuing to hold since
most of my stock was purchased in the 15-20 some time ago.
I was smart enough to sell half my position the day before
earnings in July*. I still believe this stock is a great
trading vehicle since its volatility and management is very
predictable.

*At 75+ per share. In retrospect I should have sold it all.

John,

On Sep 21, 2000 you wrote:

I am hopeful that you still follow RSAS, and will check in here once in a while.

I did my 2 1/2 years duty a little earlier than you.

PKI has certainly been slow to take off.

I still follow RSAS and the industry in general.

One company in this general industry that has done well in the last few years is Safenet(SFNT) fka Information Resource Engineering (IREG). They are up 110% this year & up 440% since the beginning of 1999.

Thread here:

Subject 8122

It is not my intention to promote Safenet on this thread (I sold way back when I sold RSAS [SDTI] in February 1999). I do consider it to be a good sign for the industry.

By contrast, another stock that I sold at the same time, and a heads on competitor to RSAS is Entrust (ENTU), which is down 70% this year & down 27% since the beginning of 1999.

I exited all 3 positions with a profit, but a meager one.

One enabling technology for PKI & e-security is smart cards.

I mention this because Gemplus the smart card industry leader is scheduled to IPO tomorrow.

A new thread on Gemplus was started here this week:

Subject 50358

I mention Gemplus because they have been a long time partner of RSAS & I believe provide smart cards and readers for RSAS products such as Keon.

Check in here now and again. I still have hopes for RSAS and the industry.

Best,

- Eric -
