mr mark, how I back up: my personal files are way less than 100MB, just right for using a USB Zip Drive. Amongst those files are e-mail addresses and bookmarks, as well as several spread sheets. I don't back up e-mail, although that may change. Maybe I'll create a new folder called 'keepers'. The program is the $20 QuikSync which immediately and automatically makes a copy on Zip of anything that changes in my flagged folders.

So I'm counting on having all program CDs and a day's leisure after a catastrophe.

I won't argue this is the way for everyone. :)
