you should have lived near Three Mile Island in 1980

Would you rather have lived next to Chernobyl??

The fact is that very little environmental damage has occurred as a result of nuclear energy...

The containment dome at TMI fulfilled its purpose, a safety procedure that did not exist at Chernobyl...

But the fact is that will current light water reactors there is increased safety and virtually no pollution...

The Exxon Valdez caused more environmental damage than did TMI...

Sure there might be a potential for an accident... but life is not without risk, either manmade or naturally caused.

And btw, do you recall reading in your science books where natural deposits of Uranium Ore have spontaneously underwent chain reactions??

Bet you didn't know that, eh?? Yeah... NATURE HERSELF is responsible for some of the most incredible nuclear reactions ever...

ymp.gov
physics.isu.edu

Btw, read the following link and ask yourself whether the UN should declare this naturally occuring nuclear reactor as a international historic monument??:

apnet.com

Yeah... all of you enviromental wackos want to complain about how mankind is endangering the enviroment with this manmade monster known as nuclear power....

But you know... nature has been doing it naturally for billions of years... And throughout the course of Earth's history, a huge fusion reactor have been pumping out tremendous amounts of heat, radioactive particles, x-rays, UV, and visible light...

It's known as the Sun...

Most current reactors are based on 30 year old technology...

Pardon the expression David, but "we've come a long way, baby!!" since the first one was lit up.

How much money did big oil companies lose off Georgia Banks? The money spent there in bidding for rights in areas with the government, drilling etc and the whole thing came up dry. Folks want oil but they don't want it in their own back yard. We can drill in Alaska and not cause environmental problems. This is all about votes. I hope folks in the Northeast wake up! They have loads of natural gas coming in from Canada now due to drilling off Sable Island however most folks in New England still use heating oil. see ya.
