SANTA CLARA, Calif. (CBS.MW) -- Intel said Thursday its third-quarter sales would fall short of the company's previous expectations, citing weaker demand in Europe. The chip giant now says it expects revenue for the period to rise 3 to 5 percent from the $8.5 billion it generated in the second quarter.Intel (intc: news, chart) also said in its report after the closing bell that its gross margin will be 62 percent, plus or minus a point, instead of its previous estimate of 63 to 64 percent.

Tomorrow is going to be a trip! Just looking at all the issues trading down(QQQ down 6), this will be quite a shakeout.

To heck with an October tax sell off. September 22, 2000 should take care of that.
