(I am not completely sure that amd would get unscratched but I am not completely sure why we are below 25 either>

The theory is that if Intel sneezes then AMD must have a cold, since Intel is the gorilla and has pricing power. I place my votes on the wisdom of this thinking in this case with my limit order to buy AMD.

Thread,

Just got wind of Intel warning. The text of the release is down right nasty. This is *MUCH* worse than anyone expected. It will be interesting to see if the 3-5% growth is even from the IABG or if flash and other stuff is where the growth is coming from. Europe is sounding like a weak excuse.

Looks like Q3 operating earnings will be below Q2. So much for a growth company with a PE of 50 or 60 or whatever it is.

If Q3 was this bad, it is difficult to imagine how bad Q4 will be when AMD will have at least 2 more new speed grades shipping in volume. Ouch.

Too bad, AMD is going to get trampled in this Intel mess but I am sure AMD revenue growth rates will be substantially higher than 3-5% ;-)

Chuck

P.S.: Wasn't Engle saying 1Gs are in short supply because demand exceeds supply at Intel? Let's see what our man has to say about this ;-)

re: "seems to me that we have a lot of frastrated amd investors now"

Do you mean "frustrated" or "castrated"? You are waxing very Freudian here, if I am not mistaken.

Very Patient Regards,
