Albert,

<just watch Intel doing their old trick of lower expectations and then beating lowered ones>

I don't know about that but I am surprised at the amount of damage the announcement is doing to other tech stocks. Intel has failed to meet operational guidance for most if not all of the last 6 quarters. In a lot of those quarters, even after including investment income, Intel either came marginally at or below guidance.

Clearly business side has not pickedup so far or otherwise Intel and the industry would be more robust. So, Intel has finally reached a point where, with a minor slowdown on the corporate side, the operational side is getting fully exposed. I continue to wonder what the analysts and the Intel bulls keep thinking.

It will be extremely interesting to see where the 3-5% growth is coming from and where Intel's ASPs are for the quarter. Scumbria's finding that PIII/Athlon 1G system prices are comparable should have been a big red flag but I thought Intel was able to do it because of strong laptop and server operations. Now we know better!

Too bad, AMD infrastructure side is screwed up - otherwise AMD could have struck much harder by going for a very aggressive market share battle.
