As you probably know, the SEC has required that all(retail and those MM types)get warning news at the same time. So the MMs are in the boat with us. Here is a post from RagingBull JDSU board addressing that and I found it interesting...

OT: Since there was about one point of upward movement this afternoon in INTC, that tells me that the MM's and FM's had no inkling that this warning was coming and that INTC abided by the SEC ruling on equal disclosure. Two months ago, you would have seen INTC begin to drift in the afternoon as MM's and FM's had the news early.

Now, what will they do since they are hurt too? They will probably increase inventory as quickly as possible which should serve to stablize the market to a degree.

Also, this will begin to be reported as INTC specific and not sector specific or market wide. That should help.

I am not saying that we may not go to 3500, we may well visit that level. I am saying that this time around, we have the mm's and FM's in the boat with us and I think they will try to save themselves anyway they can. It is going to be interesting to see how they do it.

Anyone holding should remember that the stock they bought earlier was purchased at a price the buyer deemed good at the time and it is still good; just not as good. So, there is missed oppurtunity for some. This will pass as the market says, hey, I want to own some 'XYZ' at this price. Then, we will head back up for a nice finish for the year. I guess that it will take 10 sessions or so to shake this off.

Tonight, every person that ever said anything bearish about the market will be pulled out for media comments. That includes those that said I told you this would happen 4 years ago when the DOW crossed 5500. We will hear it all. No one will be spared.

This does not worry me. All of the above in my humble opinion and good luck to all. Scotts.
