Two sources show SDLI last after hours trade at 312. Opening should be nasty for all tech stocks, but I would see recovery in a few days. Stick with the hot growth stocks such as SDLI, JDSU, others, not the mature growth such as softy and Intel.

RESEARCH ALERT-Telecoms equipment makers started

NEW YORK, Sept 21 (Reuters) - Salomon Smith Barney analysts Timothy Anderson and B. Alexander Henderson started coverage of seven telecommunications equipment makers on Thursday, rating six of them buys.

-- Anderson started Canada's JDS Uniphase Corp. (NASDAQ:JDSU) (TSE:JDU) with buy rating and a $155 price target.

-- called company the "best positioned of optical components pure-plays, with reach into nearly every product market and relationships with nearly every systems vendor."

-- Anderson started SDL Inc. (NASDAQ:SDLI) with outperform rating and a $410 price target.
