I took big hits earlier this year, one in January on YHOO and then in April. I played this one better and was lucky enough not to be holding INTC, or for that fact, any other "hyper" plays. Currently hold AOL and a newly established position today in WCOM. My thinking has changed a bit to limited downside risk plays.

I really feel for those who just got in this in the last 2 weeks. All that BS with BoA and then Kumar. I saw that and decided I'm not THAT informed to argue with either one!

BTW, I did grab a few shares on Instinet @48.50,(nothing large). I don't know why but I do remember buying IBM after it took a 20% hit and played the bounce for a nice gain.

BWDIK!

Tony,

Just got back from an excellent Italian dinner, how are you?

A couple of points.

To my knowledge, this is the latest in the quarter that Intel has ever warned. They were either scrambling to get high margin goods out the door, or they don't have the same visibility to their numbers (handle on their business). With six business days left in the quarter, blame the CFO.

I haven't had time to go through all the press and posts. Are they blaming demand or execution for the revenue shortfall? If it's demand, we're dead, you can fix execution (although maybe Intel can't these days).

From a brief look at the PR, it appears that Intel revised it guidance for 3rd quarter. Assuming things look OK going forward, it would have been a nice bone to throw to the stockholders to issue guidance for the 4th quater.

What happened to GM?

Bottom line, how can you make all those bullish statements about the 3rd quarter, and then warn with 6 business days left? Do they know what the ---- is going on, or not?
