Greenlaw....liked your post.
Haven't been trading for several weeks....just keeping cash while holding minor shares in PSIX and FON, which are down 50 percent from my buy point, and a few small-cappers which I bought for nothing and which are still worth nothing... and I just don't have time to worry about it.

WHAT I DO HAVE, however, are buy orders to catch some very cheap shares of SMH (the holding stock for semis) and QQQ. If my buy limits get met, I will do well, in the long run, I think.

If my buy limits don't get met......well, I'll stay out, because I don't like these high oil prices and the effect they might have on profits of every company in America for a long time to come.

I missed getting some stocks I like when they were lower.....and they just keep going up in this horrible market. Those are HD, WMT, PFE. Wouldn't mind CSCO, SUNW, JDSU, and a few other biggies, but those still have very high valuations.... and I'm not certain this market is going to root decisively for high valuations in strictly-tech stocks for the forseeable future.

Heard some Paine-Webber guys on the radio today who said they just keep buying up the telecoms on weakness and will keep on buying even if WCOM, T, FON, etc., go lower. I think they might be smart there, but other sectors are more interesting. These guys are also loading up on LU, saying they don't think the story is as bad as it is being portrayed. These same guys predicted several weeks ago that MSFT would see 60 and MOT would see 30-----as of tomorrow, they might have been correct.

I firmly believe we live in a market place where its the INSTITUTIONS vs. The RETAIL investor. I think its sad because again it will be the little guy who gets SCREWED over the next several months!!

I am inclined to agree with you. Those who think otherwise would do well to take a look at the following:

ici.org

In spite of individual investors pouring more money into equity funds all this year (and even redeeming money from their bond and hybrid funds to invest in stock funds), the market has been trending down all this year. Anybody who can argue otherwise may please post a response.

Obviously, someone has been taking out money from stocks even as the general public continues to pour money into stocks. Now, who is that?
