Condor, The problem with using this weakness for tax loss selling is that if you wish to re-enter those same names, you must first wait 31 day wash sale period. Otherwise you lose the claim, as I understand it. Now if there were a guarantee that we were staying down here or moving lower, that would not be a problem. But historically techs on October 22 are higher than on September 22. Now if you were tired of the stock you were selling for a tax loss and wished to rotate into another issue, this would indeed be an opportune time. For example, using this weakness in both INTC and AMD to rotate from Intel to AMD I believe is a wise move. That is why I added AMD while both are in the pits. And I would add AMD lower still, but that is due to the DD I've done on AMD and my confidence that they are running a leaner machine than Intel.
