I agree. AMD has to step to the plate and say something good. Actually a couple of the semis have to step up and say things are on track. Any silence instead would be interpreted the wrong way.

AMD is unlikely to issue any statements to assure nervous investors and new age prima donna analysts. I talked with Tony Becham this afternoon - AMDis in the quiet period and has no statements to make that she was aware of at the time. The guidance to analysts a couple weeks ago was that they are on tract to meet expectations. Euro devaluation will effect computer sales but Asia and the US remain strong. AMD has operations in Europe that will marginally offset that weakness. AMD is capturing greater market share in a very healthy overall marketplace. Intel's monopolistic sales and margins are getting squeezed fractionally. So friggin what?

This is what the tech sector is all about; swing low, swing high. Don't invest based on your emotions.

Fear and panic are good. Rational thinkers will profit. Those who react with the mob at the peak of emotions on either the upswing or the downswing will get their feathers plucked.
