That is so silly: the point is we want more minorities in the Party, we love Colin Powell and Condoleeza Rice, not as tokens, but as exemplars of the American Dream. My folks did not come over on the Mayflower. I am predominantly of Latvian Jewish descent. My people came through Ellis Island, and not too soon, considering the Holocaust. My maternal grandfather's family was from the Naples area. It is true, I have some English blood, from my maternal grandmother. Her grandparents, though, were tenant farmers, and came to the States after the Civil War. Neither of my parents went to college, and I was raised in a Democratic household. I myself worked on the McGovern campaign when I was in high school. I have a brother with acute cerebral palsy who has spent his life in a wheelchair. I grew up in a working class, albeit suburban, neighborhood. My parents were divorced, and my mother needed welfare help at times. Another brother, who is conservative also, is married to a black woman, and lives in a townhouse in a predominantly black area. I myself live in a duplex, no garage, in an integrated neighborhood. My wife makes a lot more money than I do, and I am very proud of her professional accomplishments. We have a little money, but we are not wealthy. In fact, this summer was the first time we felt we could afford to go overseas, and we did it on a budget package. In short, how do you suppose that the majority of the GOP are like "me and Rush"???.......LOL!!!
