The indicators I use for trading all have conditions that must be satisfied for them to give a result. Those results are the graphs that are plotted, such as MACD, RSI etc. To interpret the plots I also use a set of conditions. In this case the result are the rules I have derived from my trading knowledge which is the sum of my trading experience, studies, and observations. Therefore the "if condition then result1 else result2" is the very essence of the mechanical trading that I employ. This prevents or at least minimizes the "gut feel" or "I hope" etc. type of discretionary trading that always gets me into trouble.

Perhaps I can provide more detail of my interpretations next time. Or I've just missed your point completely. :)
