Bilow,
Yes you are right. Looking at the chart below that you like to use, looks like RDRAM is getting more expensive to produce... if you are standing on your head when looking at it, that is ;-)

Price of PC800 in early March: $6.117 (PC133 delta:518%)
Price now: $2.838 (PC133 Delta: 150%)

Price of PC600 in early March: $4.963 (PC133 delta: 401%)
Price now: $2.222 (PC133 delta: 96%)

Carl,

Hi Dave B; Re the cost (not price) of RDRAM production...

My system had to download Realplayer G2 and I have to reboot to listen to the ON24 interview. I'm not going to do that right now <G>. I'll check it later.

Dave

Carl,

Back in February, you quoted Tate as saying: "Tate says that it's currently 40% more expensive to produce RDRAM based on the feedback they're getting from the manufacturers."

But in an interview reported yesterday (i.e. Thursday) with On24, a Rambus bigwig quotes the cost adder for RDRAM as currently being 50%. Is the stuff getting more expensive to make, were the memory makers overly confident back in February, or what?

Finally got to listen to the interview, and I have no answer for you. It's a good question for Rambus IR.

Up $3 today (3.6%). Apparently no one else is worried about his statement. <G>

Dave
