That's the point, isn't it Bill? The Republicans put the minorities front and center to hide the fact that they have very little color in their delegate ranks or in their voting bloc for that matter. Democrats had a diverse podium, as well as a diverse delegation, as well as a diverse electorate. That represents not only the Democrat Party but the nation as a whole. Only the Republicans are hiding something. And let's talk about real diversity--do you really think JC Watts really merited his rise to the number 3 spot in the Republican leadership? Did he put in his time? Did he have senority? Not at all, he was a 3-term member promoted because he was young and would add color to the Republican leadership. I guess affirmative action is only okay when practiced by the Republican party for publicity purposes.

Edit--by the way, "hoi polloi," while a great term, is often mistakenly used. It has the exact opposite meaning of what you meant it to mean. It actually means, the common people.
