Cirruslvr,

Re: < No, not Dell... MicronPC. They haven't used AMD in the past.

"Coupled with the AMD alliance, micronpc.com announced the immediate availability of a new value-priced desktop system based on the AMD Duron processor -- the Micron Millennia RS2150A. This new, affordably priced desktop system is immediately available at Best Buy locations throughout the US. The Micron Millennia RS2150A
is the first Duron-based desktop available from Best Buy."

Wow... Great news. An SKU from a new OEM, and on top of it, it's a Duron System that's immediately available. If you include the new OEMs' from Europe, we are looking at a sale of a couple of hundreds of thousands more of Durons within the last two weeks of September.

Cirrus & Thread,

<Micronpc.com and AMD Forge New Relationship to Offer Choice and Flexibility to Consumers>

Cool, thanks for the post. Micron is not a big fish anymore but one more OEM does not hurt! Intel may have blown this by telling OEMs Celerons are only 25% of the mix. Positive news from FIC and Micron within 24 hours of Intel bust.

By the way, I logged in early to do some bottom fishing and I see that AMD is on an uptick. What do the technicians suggest? Is it worth waiting for another hour or so for the price to settle down or should I go for it now?

Thanks,
Chuck

Cirruslvr and Thread, Re: Coupled with the AMD alliance, micronpc.com announced the immediate availability of a new value-priced desktop system based on the AMD Duron processor -- the Micron Millennia RS2150A...

Great news!!!

Perhaps AMD management spoke with Micron last night to "go ahead and announce the RS2150A", rather than reiterate once again to deaf ears "We remain on target ...". Perhaps the "deaf ears" folks will find this more understandable.

Kindest regards,
CrazyMan

This is fantastic news!!

Another domino falls.

To the moon Alice!

[Editor's Note: Due to a certain "situation" with a large tech company, blast off has been delayed- not cancelled, but delayed.
This is NOT the lost moon (yet).]

Cirruslvr,

The Micron Millennia RS2150A is the first Duron-based desktop available from Best Buy.

This is the best news I've seen in a long time. Athlon systems shouldn't be too far behind.

Pravin.
