The PlayStation II is about to hit the US. My understanding is that it is a lot faster than a PC for gaming. And cheaper, too.

actually the biggest bottlenecks in gaming are again the bus, and the video card. the processor is 3rd (or maybe 4th after the cdrom speed) in importance.
