Eric,

I believe all your comments are correct about Europe. I also doubt that is in anyway an insult to a European. I see nothing wrong with liking traditional retail and one enjoying their lifestyle. It is correct many Europeans do not like US companys but we have Union people in the uS that will not buy imported products. This is all a culture issue and each country has their own. That does not make one better than another.

The complicated laws are not all that complicated if we chose one country. The US is one country granted with various States. Europe is comprised of various countries with various governments. I doubt the retail laws within any single European country are not any more complex than our own. The complexity comes from the fact were talking about a halfo dozen countries.

The argument in the US from the pure e-commerce firms against the collection of sales tax is that it would be too complex since sales tax laws vary from state to state. In Europe we are not just talking about differences in the laws about tax collection. We are looking at different advertising laws, tax laws, custom laws, etc.
