the timing of the intervention was extremely suspicious...i think the main aim was not as they said to support the Euro, but to help allay the fears in the stock market, i.e. to save the US bubble...

did you see Summers? the poor sap doesn't know WHAT to say anymore...first he goes on about the need to help the Euro, then he 're-iterates' his strong dollar stance...

in fact, no matter what happens, it's going to be bad news. if the Euro keeps collapsing, that will kick off a crisis. if conversely the dollar begins to slump, foreigners will dump US financial assets at lightning speed....
